WELCOME TO ESPOO !
The 5th annual session of the UBC commission
on culture will be organized in Helsinki and Espoo in September
2001. The programme will include sessions about structures
and financing of art education, as well as presentations
and demonstrations of different working models and practices.
The arts education session day is Friday,
7 September. The programme will begin in Annantalo Arts
Centre in Helsinki with a presentation of the working model
of the arts centre and lectures about organization and financing
of art education. Annantalo Arts Centre develops and carries
out research into various forms of arts education, provides
training for groups such as day nursery personnel, produces
special programmes
On Friday afternoon the programme will continue
in the Cultural Centre of Espoo with speeches and discussions
about international cooperation in music education and visual
arts education for children and young people. Espoo Cultural
Centre is the main arena for the performing arts and art
festivals in Espoo. The centre offers facilities for concerts,
plays, films, exhibitions etc. It also houses a library,
a music Institute and a branch of the Adult Education Centre.
Saturday 8 September will be the meeting
day of the cultural commission, including an interesting
presentation and demonstration of cooperation in audience
education between the Finnish National Opera and the city
of Espoo.
