Kolding and Turku, 1 October 2002
Dear Sir / Madame, It is our great pleasure to Welcome you to the Annual Meeting of the UBC Commission on Environment and Agenda 21 Working Group, 6 November 2002 in Kolding, Denmark. The meeting will be organised back-to-back with the Johannesburg +Europe Conference (Kolding 4-5-Nov), and will – among other things - build on the outcomes of the Johannesburg Summit. Therefore we would strongly encourage you to use the opportunity to attend both the conference and the EnvCom and A21 Meeting! Please, see the attachments for more information on both events. This time, the EnvCom and A21 meeting will focus mainly on the UBC Agenda 21 Action Program: monitor the progress, discuss new activity ideas, and start the preparation process for the program for years 2004-2005(/2007). An important goal will also be to contribute to building a new project for local Agenda 21 in Central and Eastern Europe. Several workshops have been designed for this purpose. The meeting will also provide an opportunity to discuss good practices in different member cities, get information of new projects and participation possibilities, as well as meet colleagues and build future work together. Participants from all member cities and partner organisations are Cordially Welcome. Travel and accommodation support will be organised for a limited number of CEEC participants (please, see the practical information for guidelines). If you have suggestions for the agenda and/or would wish to contribute with a brief presentation, please, contact the UBC EnvCom Secretariat. Please, see the attachments for detailed program, practical information and registration form, as well as the Johannesburg +Europe Conference Invitation Package. More information on the practicalities is also available from the UBC EnvCom Secretariat. Looking forward to meeting you in Kolding,
Sincerely yours,
