The conference ”Partners in Projects”,
co-organised by the County of North Jutland and Aalborg Municipality, is a
unique opportunity for those who wish to participate in projects under the
EU’s Sixth Framework Programme. The conference takes place 7-8 November
2002 in Aalborg, Denmark.
Thematic areas: Three thematic areas of the Sixth Framework Programme are in focus at “Partners in Projects”: - Genomics and Biotechnology for Health - Information Society Technologies - Nanotechnologies and nanosciences, knowledge-based multifunctional materials and new production processes and devices Partners in Projects addresses: Anyone who is actively engaged in research and development or makes use of research results from either of the three thematic areas and who wants to promote projects in search of potential partners or wants to be part of research projects should participate in the conference. “Partners in Projects” is thus intended for researchers, public institutions, industrial and commercial firms, universities and research bodies from the EU and from EU-candidate countries. Project presentations: All participants are called on to present projects at the conference and/or send in project abstracts to be published in the conference material. Submission of project abstracts and registration for project presentation can be made at the conference website. The deadline for submission and registration is 7 October 2002. Programme: At ”Partners in Projects” there will be a series of workshops covering the three thematic areas. At these workshops, the participants have the opportunity to present and discuss projects with potential future partners and sufficient time is provided for participants’ networking in both small and large groups. Furthermore, there will be ‘Toolbox seesions’ at which representatives from among others FIRST, CORDIS and EuroCenter will provide information, advice and counselling concerning the Sixth Framework Programme. These representatives will be available for additional information throughout the conference. The Director-General of the Research DG, Mr Achilleas Mitsos, will make the opening address at “Partners in Projects”. Among others, the mayor of Aalborg, representatives from the EU as well as from Aalborg University and research institutions in Europe will attend the conference as keynote speakers. Some of these speakers will moreover present projects at the workshops.
