Hello there! |
|
EnvCom Secretariat,
October/November 2002
 |
Dear UBC Friend, welcome to the upgraded webpages of the EnvCom. The
purpose of these pages, of course, is to serve you even better. The pages are made to fit
for everyone: they are not too heavy to be loaded also with slower connections and older |
| computers, still
they provide nice illustrations, and are also easy to print with most software. I hope
they will serve you well and you will find the information included interesting and
relevant. |
The
mission of the UBC EnvCom Secretariat and network is to serve the member cities in
environmental and sustainable development co-operation. The past few years have been very
active, and we are doing our best to keep up the pace. In the network contributions of
respective cities result in mutual benefits, and the key issue for the performance of the
UBC network are indeed the active cities. - Warmest Thanks to all of you for your
excellent contributions, and Welcome to contribute further! Several interesting activities
are coming up right now, and new projects are under development. You will find further
information on all of these in these new pages.
Just to take up a couple of
interesting upcoming events, I would like to mention the EnvCom and Agenda 21 meeting in
Kolding 6 November, on the occasion of the Johannesburg +Europe Conference, as well as the
Municipal Environmental Management Workshop in Rostock 15-16 November. You are Cordially
invited to participate in both of them!
Looking forward to meeting you
in the UBC events,
Best Regards,
Risto Veivo
UBC Environmental Co-ordinator
