This week in the XIV UBC General Conference in Växjö, Sweden, nearly 300 high-level politicians, city officials, other experts and youth across the Baltic Sea Region are coming together to discus and find solutions to issues affecting us all in the Baltic Sea Region.

–The XIV UBC General Conference in Växjö is about leadership and cities pioneering in various fields of life, such as promoting digital start-up ecosystems, preventing youth marginalization and fighting climate change. We need international cooperation and exchange more than ever!" states President of the UBC Per Bødker Andersen.

The plenary sessions during 25–26 October, the statutory UBC General Conference on 26 October, and two plenaries on 24 and 25 October will be streamed live at www.bit.ly/ubc-youtube. Streaming times are:

  • Tuesday 24 Oct. at 15.30–18.00 (State of the Youth Guarantee in the Baltic Sea Region)
  • Wednesday 25 Oct. at 9.30–12.30 (Sustainable Development Goals in local & regional setting), 13.30–15.00 (UBC 25th Anniversary session) and 15.30–17.30 (Leadership for the Future – Cities as Leaders for Glocal Sustainable Development)
  • Thursday 26 Oct. at 09.00–10.30 (Listening to the voices of tomorrow), 11.00–13.00 (Statutory General Conference of the UBC) and 16.00–17.15 (Concluding Plenary Session).

Take part in short videos at the stand of UBC Sustainable Cities Commission

UBC Sustainable Cities Commission (SCC) is broadcasting live during the General Conference at their stand (in the foyer of the concert hall). They are also conducting short interviews on topics such as climate leadership, KEEP database and the report made by CDP that will be presented in the General Confrence.
