2009 UBC Commission on Sport Grant Session "Active and Fit"

Dear Friends,

Continuing to realise the priorities of the UBC Social Campaign "Always Active", the UBC Commission on Sport has announced the 2009 UBC Commission on Sport Grant Session entitled "Active and Fit". The UBC Commission on Sport wishes to promote and award these projects which offer rehabilitation opportunities to elderly people with mobility restrictions and thus propagate physical activity among elderly people. In this year's grant session the UBC Commission on Sport will pay special attention to sports projects which offer rehabilitation activities that are targeted at increasing the mobility of the elderly, encourage elderly people to keep physically active as well as increase their functional capacity.

"Active and Fit" grants are addressed exclusively to UBC member cities. Municipalities/communes are the only entities entitled to take part in grant distribution, and therefore non-profit associations / institutions / sports clubs willing to apply are obliged to submit their application forms by the agency of a municipality/commune. Each UBC member city is allowed to submit only one application. The 2009 grants will be awarded to UBC member cities for rehabilitation projects which meet the a/m conditions provided that they are realised in the period 1 October 2009 - 31 March 2010.

The deadline for sending grants is November 16, 2009. Completed application forms (Please see Part II of the attached document) should be e-mailed to the UBC Commission on Sport Secretariat at ubcsport@gdynia.pl

For further details regarding the "Active and Fit" grants please see the attached document. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Joanna Leman, UBC Commission on Sport Secretariat, phone: + 48 58 66 88 207, e-mail: ubcsport@gdynia.pl.
