New social jobs in the cities

Dear UBC friends,

Tallinn City has initiated a number of measures to fight the economic recession and the effects of the economic crisis for the citizens of the capital of Estonia. You can read more about it in the article „Tallinn Fights the Recession" in the Baltic Cities Bulletin No 2/2009.

We are sincerely interested to learn from the experience of other UBC member cities how you have created new public (social) jobs for fighting unemployment in your cities.

We plan to arrange a round-table conference of EU cities on this topic in Tallinn in April 2010.

Please send us information about the measures for fighting the economic recession in your cities and please indicate your interest to participate in the planned conference.
