I am cooperating with the city of Ferrol, they are searching partners for an URBACT project proposal. Deadline for submission of proposals is 15th March 2012.

Ferrol is a city with almost 80.000 inhabitants (a metropolitan area population of over 250.000) and its located in Galicia an Atlantic region in Spain. The city has been a major naval shipbuilding centre from the 18th century, being the capital of the Spanish Navy's Maritime Department of the North area. It is also well-known because is the home of the shipbuilding yards of Navantia.

Ferrol is developing a new refurbishment of the maritime façade so they would like to led an URBACT project on this issue; a comprehensive project that deals on the Port cities main problems: new jobs, new uses for old buildings...
