UBC´s Munical Environmental Auditing Project is halfway ready. The demonstration auditing of the City of Tallinn is complited and the Manual for MEA in the Baltic Cities is under preparation. The results and experiences from the auditing of Tallinn will be disseminated to other Baltic cities. The aim is that these cities would utilize the new MEA-model in auditing their own city´s environmental performance. For detailed information, please see a separate article on the issue.
UBC is going to arrange five national training seminars in selected cities in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Russia in April - June 1997. The first seminar will be held in Tallinn in connection with the work meeting of the Commission on Environment on 18 - 19 April. The other four cities and dates are still open. Every UBC city is warmly welcomed to participate in these training seminars!
