Municipal Environmental Auditing Project

The pilot auditing of the City of Tallinn has been carried out and the project team has compiled the following reports:

• Conclusions and recommendations of the MEA Project in Tallinn
• The Initial Environmental Review of the City of Tallinn
• MEA pilot project in Tallinn

The idea of the project was to create a model for municipal environmental auditing and to test it in Tallinn. After this phase other Baltic Sea cities are encouraged to adopt the model and audit their own city. This is done by arranging national MEA-dissemination seminars in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Russia according to the following, preliminary programme:

• Panevezys 22 - 23 September 1997
• Riga 24 -25 September 1997
• Kaliningrad 29 - 30 September 1997
• Gdynia 1 - 2 October 1997
