The 4th General conference of the Union of the Baltic Cities will be held 12 - 13 September 1997 in the city of Gdansk, which this year celebrates its 1000th anniversary. The theme of this Conference will be "Baltic Sea Cooperation Forum" leading one step further towards integration of Nations of our region, stressing the role of cities in that process.
The Conference will gather approximately 200 mayors and delegates of Baltic cities as well as representatives of many international institutions and organizations. The first day of the Conference will focus on future perspectives of the Baltic Sea region and the second day will be devoted to internal UBC issues. In addition, all UBC Commissions have their meetings during the Conference.
