XI Knigths Tournament

It’s a tradition that in August the City Moat turns into a tournament area, in which there are fights among knight clans coming to Chojnice from all over Poland. All day long, there are different events like an archery contest, old dance shows as well as folk games from the Medieval Ages. After dawn, at 8 p.m, there is a staging of the 1466 siege of Chojnice.

VIII Opera Nights

In August, in the City Moat, Chojnice’s audience will have a chance to listen to opera and operetta pieces performed by the most wonderful Polish artists, accompanied by the symphonic orchestra with the beautiful stage setting in the background. The opera performances matches perfectly the evening atmosphere of the Old Town. Every year, there is a wonderful spiritual feast for the inhabitants of the city as well as for tourists.  

XXIC The Night of Poets

The Night of Poets is a unique opportunity to listen to poetry recited and sung by the greatest Polish poets, actors and musicians. In the City Moat, there will be a literary feast, preceded traditionally by the National Poetic Meetings and the XXIII National „One Poem” Competition.

XXVI Street Art Festival "Chojnice’s Fiesta"

At the first weekend of July, invited by the Chojnice’s Center of Culture, the most famous street theaters from Poland and other countries come to our town to present their newest outdoor performances. The spectacles take place in the Town Square and the City Moat till late hours in the evening. The theatrical experience is accompanied by fire shows, street musical performances, art workshops and live sculptures’ shows.

InterTony Festival 2018

Rock festival organised by volunteers from twinned towns: Chojnice, Emsdetten (Germany) and Hengelo (Netherlands). This open air festival promotes international cooperation and the entrance is free. Bands from twinned towns and invited artists perform on stage.

Autumn Equinox feast

Continuous international project DREVERNOS RUDENS LYGĖ (Dreverna Autumnal Equinox) is initiated by the Craftsmen‘s Guild KRIKRAGAA. The main goal of the event is to mark the beginning of astronomical autumn, to stop in the moment of autumnal equinox and to observe the Baltic Unity Day together with the guests from the old Baltic tribal lands.

Daga Feast

This is an annual event dedicated to thank for the autumn harvest, to celebrate the end of the field works. It is local feast with traditional pie, kafija, tea, homemade bread, which is consecrated by the priest.
