Sámi week

Throughout Sámi week, the city is full of music, dance, theatre, exhibitions and talks revolving around and showcasing Sámi culture. The Sámi are an autochthonous people and the oldest native people in the Nordic countries. From October to April, the Umeå region forms part of the Sámi’s reindeer husbandry area.

Umefolk

Umeå’s folk music festival has its roots in the folk-centred festivals of the 1970s. With concerts, dancing and workshops, it is the winter’s largest folk music event.
Since 1986, it has been held at Umeå Folkets Hus (Umeå’s civic centre).

International Football Tournament "Maardu Cup 2017"

Tournament will feature competition in the age groups U12 /players, born on 2005/ for boys football teams. Also teams of Maardu twinning towns /from Poland, Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, France, Armenia, Ukraine/ are invited to participate in the tournament. Team from Maardu twinning town consists of 20 persons /16 football players and 4 accompanying persons/.

International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament "Snowdrops 2017"

The tournament will take place since 19.05.2017 till 21.05.2017 in individual competitions. Each delegation consists of max 10 gymnasts, from each team takes one judge for the full period of the competitions, delegation headed the coach /each team is in charge for the absence of its judge in 50 euro fine/. Each gymnastic group consists of 5 gymnasts.
