In 2017 this event will take place in Bergen and the region (Askøy, Fjell and Øygarden). I
t will be the largest event ever organized in Hordaland and the Western part of Norway. The UCI Road World Championships consists of 12 competitions over 9 days. 1150 athletes from over 80 countries will take part and race for the coveted rainbow jersey.
More than 500.000 spectators are expected for the event, and a massive 300 million TV viewers from around the globe will watch the event.

Bergenfest is a four-day open-air festival held in the city centre of Bergen. The festival takes place on the grounds of a medieval fortress and castle, located on the quayside in the city’s historic centre.
A variety of genres are represented, from straight forward pop and rock via blues, country, americana and electronic-based music to the more obscure and adventurous ones.
Previous acts at the festival include Robert Plant, John Mayer, ZZ Top, Biffy Clyro, Imagine Dragons and Lana Del Rey to name a few. Altogether it will be around 50 acts presented at the festival.

A diverse cultural and aquatic programme awaits the people from Kiel and their guests at the Bootshafen: during six weekends in the afternoon and on into the evening a floating stage will offer poetry slam, jazz dance shows, readings and live music in a relaxed maritime atmosphere. The deck chairs offer a wonderful opportunity to lay back and enjoy the food and drink with the evening’s harbour skyline as a backdrop.
