Resource wise actions and prospects of utilizing the biosphere regions

On 16-18 May 2017, UBC Sustainable Cities Commission organises its meeting in the City of Jyväskylä.

The constant depletion of natural resources, population growth and climate change will force societies around the world to embrace change. Sustainable lifestyles, energy efficiency and the recycling of materials from different products back into raw materials will reduce both costs and the burden on the environment. Local food, solar panels, smart transport, new services and future directions for cities - resource wisdom encompasses all of these. City of Jyväskylä actively promotes sustainable and wise use of resources through experiments.    - Pirkko Melville, R&D Manager (Strategy and Urban Development),  City of Jyväskylä

Join your fellow colleagues from other UBC cities to see how resource wise actions are made in Jyväskylä as well as to discuss the prospects of utilizing the biosphere regions of your respective areas to promote sustainability and competitiveness of your Cities.
